Michael Hart's Road Notes
A continuing story, more to follow in the upcoming issue

Having been entertained by his stories in the past, I've been pressing peripatetic member Michael Hart for years to contribute to the WebLetter, and my arm twisting has finally paid off, with a humorous and thoughtful diary of his adventures and travails in Europe this summer on assignment. And for those of us like myself, who didn't have a chance to get away this summer, its a vicarious vacation, so enjoy! -- Ed.

Installment 1 Stop #2 of 14 locations, 13 of them Designer Outlet Malls. I can see now that, by the end, I will probably have sworn to only do my future shopping on the Internet.

Installment 2 Let's see, shall we go to Worm's Head or The Mumbles? Oh, let's chuck it all and just take in The Vale of Glamorgan, whad'ya think?

Installment 3 The weather was uniformly glum for most of my stay (that Nik Color "Sunshine" plug-in will be worth the price when I get back!), and I managed to sneak in to Liverpool for a couple of hours.

Installment 4 Do you have one of those lists, "Things To Do before I Die?" I've kind of had one in my head, not sure if I ever wrote them all down. I can scratch off "Fly On The Concorde" now, can't I? Well, if you do, I highly recommend adding to yours "See The Edinburgh Tattoo."

Installment 5 Walking to the center on Saturday I feel a twinge in my back under the camera backpack. It gets tighter and tighter during the day, and I medicate some that night. The next day, Sunday, is several hours drive to Charles DeGaulle and a flight to Rome.
