Editor's Letter
by Jim Caldwell

For those of you who missed it, Dan Burkholder's seminar/demo at Ron Scott's studio was intense! Filled with humor and nuggets of info about Photoshop ways to make platinum art prints, he moved at a break-neck pace until 9:00 P.M. -- Dan asked if he could stay over to squeeze in a few more tips and virtually everyone stayed on. The guy knows his stuff!

I was in the second row borrowing scraps of paper from my wife and Lauren Singer, scribbling notes furiously on the multi-step Photoshop tricks Dan was demonstrating, in hopes of retaining the info. Later a couple of members asked me to repeat these details to help their recall. I retained SOME of the info from the Burkholder talk and was actually planning to write about it in the WebLetter.

I then picked up the current issue of Photo Electronic Imaging, and there was a large article on image sharpening with several methods, including Dan's. They even have Web-based tutorials tied to the print articles! Even better, the subscription is FREE (at least mine was)! The URL is www.peimag.com.

If any of you would care to contribute your own Photoshop tips (and for some reason, don't want the fame and fortune of a PEI credit line...), send 'em on down!
